Chris Bednar, Senior Manager, Global Records Management for Bain & Company, Inc.

Chris is Senior Manager, Global Records Management for Bain & Company, Inc. a management strategy consulting firm based in Boston with over 50 offices worldwide and has over 30 years of experience in information management. He manages the records and information management program for Bain’s global consulting and administrative functions strategizing with legal, IT security, privacy, and customer-facing business leaders to govern risk, properly dispose of client project materials, and improve use of information assets. He also manages Bain’s eDiscovery process, coordinates all legal technical projects, and advises on firm-wide IT projects and priorities.

Chris has a BS in Music Education from Berklee College of Music, a Masters of Library and Information Sciences from Simmons College and is a Certified Records Manager. He has been a member of ARMA International for over 20 years, served at the chapter and regional levels and is currently region director for ARMA’s Northeast region. Chris has a handful of published articles and book chapters on Knowledge Management and Information Management and is an occasional speaker/panelist at ARMA conferences.

Michael Clark, Vice President, Google Cloud

Joining the Google Cloud Americas leadership team in 2018, Michael Clark serves as the East Region Vice President for Google Cloud.  In this capacity, Michael is responsible for delivering customer and shareholder value with a diverse team of field sales representatives, customer engineers, and solution architects.

Prior to joining Google Cloud, Michael spent 20 years at Microsoft where he held a number of senior leadership roles focused on Corporate and Enterprise customers.

Michael lives with his wife and three children in the Washington DC Area. Outside of work, Michael loves spending time outdoors running, cycling, and hiking with his family.

His background includes work with a wide range of national and international Fortune 500 companies and governments.  Prior to joining Google, Eliot started and ran a number of small technology businesses developing niche solutions to complex problems in data management.  He is an inventor and multiple patent holder.  In addition to his work at Google, Eliot is an avid pilot and promoter of general aviation.

Ron Hedges, Senior Counsel with Dentons US LLP.

Ron served as a United States Magistrate Judge in the District of New Jersey for over 20 years. Ron speaks and writes on a variety of topics, many of which are related to electronic information, including procedural and substantive criminal law, information governance, litigation management, and integration of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, block chain and telemedicine into existing information governance policies and procedures. Among other things, Ron is the co-chair of the Pretrial Practice and Discovery Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation. He is the lead author of a guide for federal judges on electronically stored information. Ron is also the co-senior editor of The Sedona Conference Cooperation Proclamation, Resources for the Judiciary, Third Edition(June 2020).

Sharon Morris, Prudential Insurance and Columbia University

Sharon Morris lives to put the appropriate context to data. Sharon started her career as a researcher. She worked for several non-profit organizations where she co-authored several research studies. She then worked with several financial service companies, Chase, Federal Home Loan Bank of NY, FannieMae, where she used her analytics and research skills to monitor the voice of the customer and to develop in-house statistical sampling methods.

In 2002, Sharon was tapped to develop the first RIM program at the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York. She went on-to hold several IG and DG roles while, always using her data analytics skills. In 2014, while working for PwC she refocused on her career in data science. 

Sharon is currently a manager in the Data Science and AI organization at Prudential, and an Adjunct Associate for the M.S. data analytics program at Columbia University.

Victoria North, Director of Knowledge Services, Kirkland & Ellis LLP

Victoria’s career in information spans more than 30 years. She has gained the majority of her experience working in the legal sector but has also worked for accountancy firms KMPG and Grant Thornton. Victoria has taken an active interest in professional development for the information profession.

Victoria joined the London office of Kirkland & Ellis at the beginning of 2012 and was responsible for managing Research Services, Information Governance and New Business and Conflicts.  In January 2017 Victoria re-located to Kirkland’s New York office to take on the role of Director of Knowledge Services. 

In her current role Victoria supports more than thirty Knowledge Attorneys with the collection and organization of knowledge content and responding to requests for information using internal data. She manages a team of eight across the US and Europe.   

She is currently President of Special Libraries Association’s New York Community.  She is a former Chair of the British and Irish Association of Law Librarian (BIALL) and has been involved in organizing and participating in numerous seminars and conferences for information professionals.

Kristi Robison

 Kristi Robison has more than 20 years of experience as an information technology consultant leading diverse global project teams, with a consistent focus on maximizing collaboration and knowledge sharing.  She has designed several data transformations to Cloud Services with an emphasis on governance, sustainability, and information lifecycle management. Her work includes policy, process, and project management along with training and communications development and delivery.

Her IT experience covers a breadth of topics including UX/UI design, change management for people and systems, and user adoption guidance.  She was a Compliance session moderator at Microsoft’s 2020 Ignite conference.

William Saffady, PhD., IG and RIM Consulting Services

William Saffady is a records management consultant, researcher, and author based in New York City.  His latest books are Managing Information Risks, which was published by Rowman & Littlefield in 2020, and the fourth edition of Records and Information Management: Fundamentals of Professional Practice, which will be published by Rowman & Littlefield in the Spring of 2021.  He is currently completing a research report on global requirements for personnel records, which will be published by the ARMA International Educational Foundation in 2021. 

As a consultant, Dr. Saffady provides a variety of analytical services, including developing strategic plans and governance models for records management programs, conducting needs assessments and gap analysis for recordkeeping systems, preparing record retention policies and schedules, performing domestic and international legal research for record retention, developing technical specifications for procurement of records management products and services, and preparing cost calculations and justifications for specific records management projects.

Atle Skjekkeland, President at The Digital Value Institute

Atle is an information innovator and educator. His interest in the impact of cloud, social, mobile, IoT, and artificial intelligence has made him a frequent keynoter and workshop facilitator at information management events across the world. 

Atle led for almost a decade of AIIM´s information management think-tank in EMEA and North America,  also served several years as the General Secretary of the DLM Forum for the European Commission, responsible for creating standards for electronic records management and digital archiving. David brings over 20 years of financial and broader industry experience having developed global information governance programs, eDiscovery, data protection and banking support functions.

Prior positions involved strategic planning, program development and operations normalization for structured data preservation and eDiscovery. Jason Stearns, President of the ARMA International Board of Directors

Jason C. Stearns is President of the ARMA International Board of Directors. He has served on the board since 2017. Previously, Jason served as chair of the IGP board of directors and was president of the ARMA Metro NYC Chapter.

Jason is also the Information Governance Program Manager in the Legal & Compliance department at Citadel. He has held similar roles at BlackRock, UBS AG, and New York Life Insurance Company

Mr. Stearns earned an MS in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon and BA from Binghamton University. He is a certified IGP. Susan Whitmire, CRM, FAI, CIP, IBM

Susan Whitmire, CRM, FAI, CIP, is an Information Governance Technical Specialist at IBM where she helps organizations find the right solutions for governing their information by bringing together practitioner experience in information management and governance strategy with IBM solutions.

She has 30+ years as an Information Governance (IG) practitioner, mostly in insurance.  Her experience includes IG program development/implementation, delivering electronic records management and email management solutions, and legal hold/eDiscovery program development. 

Susan earned her CRM designation in 1995 and inducted into the ARMA International Company of Fellows in 2009 as Fellow #42.
