    Mark Berman, Partner at Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP

    Mark is in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group as well as in its other litigation practice groups. He co-heads the firm’s Complex Title Insurance Litigation practice. Mr. Berman is a member of the firm’s Cooperative and Condominium Housing Practice Group.

    He has extensive experience in representing private and public companies, as well as partnerships and individuals, as plaintiffs and defendants, in complex commercial matters with an emphasis on real estate disputes, electronic discovery conflicts, and complex title insurance issues.

    Anita Castora, CRM, FAI, IGP

    Anita is a Senior Records Management Analyst at Jabil, Inc., in St. Petersburg, FL.  Anita has over 20 years’ experience working in all facets of records management; developing and implementing policies, training, retention schedules, and auditing.

    She has been an active board member for multiple ARMA chapters during her career, and is the immediate past president of the Jacksonville Chapter, which had been dormant. Anita is a Chapter Advisors for the Southeast Region Board of ARMA International. She has received many awards and accolades from ARMA, ACEDS and other organizations. Anita was part of the teams for the Metro New York and Akron/Canton Chapters when they won Chapter of the Year.  She is a Certified Records Manager (CRM), Information Governance Professional (IGP), and a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). She was recently inducted into the Company of Fellows.  Anita is currently a member of the Gulf Coast Chapter.

    Glenn Fischer, Associate Director of Risk Management, Kirkland & Ellis LLP

    Glenn Fischer is a strategic leader with over 20 years of experience in the legal industry. He’s responsible for providing direction to attorneys and staff on all aspects of the firm’s Information Governance efforts including the Records Management program; ethical and legal compliance requirements related to information; the preservation or destruction of information; the confidentiality, privacy and security of information and the mobility of information.

    Glenn communicates program requirements and goals to firm personnel through education, coaching and change management strategies that increase user adoption and compliance. He applies technical knowledge of various internal and external databases to assist with data analysis, data manipulation and statistical reporting.     Gail Gottehrer, Co-Chair of the Privacy, Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies team at Akerman LLP. 

    Her practice focuses on technology-related litigation and counseling, including autonomous vehicle regulation, data privacy, and cybersecurity.  She is one of the few defense lawyers to have been involved in the trial of a class action to verdict before a jury. 

    Gail is a frequent speaker on the implications of technology for the law and business operations, including data ownership and privacy, autonomous and connected vehicles, biometrics, the Internet of Things, the GDPR, eDiscovery and electronic evidence, robotics, smart cities, and wearable technology. She teaches Law for Knowledge Innovation and Practices at Columbia University and is a Fellow at the Center for Legal Innovation at Vermont Law School.

    Ron Hedges, JD, former Magistrate Judge, Senior Counsel Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group

    He has extensive experience in e-discovery and in the management of complex litigation and has served as a special master, arbitrator and mediator. He also consults on management and discovery of electronically stored information (“ESI”).

    He was a US Magistrate Judge from 1986 to 2007 and is the principal author of the third edition of the Federal Judicial Center’s Pocket Guide for Judges on Discovery of Electronic Information, available under “publications” at the FJC website. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1974 and from Georgetown University Law Center in 1977.

    John Isaza, Esq, FAI, heads the Information Governance & Records Management Practice at Rimon

    John is internationally recognized in the emerging legal field of information governance, as well as records and information management (RIM). He is one of the country’s foremost experts on RIM issues, electronic discovery, and legal holds. He has developed information governance and records retention programs for some of the most highly regulated Fortune 100 companies, including related regulatory research opinions. His clients range from the Fortune 100 to startups.

    Mr. Isaza is also an expert in social media law. He is the current chair of the ABA’s Social Media Law Subcommittee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. In this capacity he is a contributing author and Editor in Chief of the upcoming book, A Handbook on Global Social Media Law for the Business Lawyer, to be published the ABA. Mr. Isaza is a frequent lecturer on the issue, and he advises clients on the difficult issues in navigating a social media presence.

      

    Jeffrey Lewis, Records Compliance Manager for Farmers Insurance

    Jeff Lewis was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and attended California Western School of Law in San Diego. He is an attorney although he does not practice law.  He has over 20 years in the records and information management field. Jeff is currently is the Records Compliance Manager for Farmers Insurance. He has been active with ARMA for most of his career and is the President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter.

      

    Ilana Lutman, CIPP/US, CRM, Information Governance Specialist at Mercedes Benz

    Ilana brings more than 20 years of expertise as an information professional in government, corporate, industrial and nonprofit sectors. Having worked in a variety of roles across the information vocation spectrum, she is dedicated to making sure that organizations are in control of their information assets, and that clients have access to the right information at the right time at the lowest cost to ensure workplace productivity. She joined Mercedes-Benz USA in April 2014 as Information Governance Specialist and transferred to Daimler North America Corporation in October 2015.

    Previously, Ilana was as a project archivist at the College of Staten Island and library associate at Roselle Public Library. In her native Australia, Ilana worked as an archivist in state and local government. In Israel, Ilana worked for Partner Communications (orange cell phone brand) as the corporate Information Specialist.  She holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University, a BA Honors in History and a graduate diploma in Information Management and Archives Administration from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. In 2013, she attained the certified records manager (CRM) designation and since then has completed AIIM courses in electronic records management.  Ilana is immediate past president of the information professional organization ARMA Northern NJ Chapter  and has also served as secretary and vice-president of educational programs.

    Prashanth Mekala, Supervisory Special Agent, FBI

    He spent the first eight years of his career working on complex counterintelligence and espionage cases.  From 2012 to 2014 he worked in FBI Headquarters as a Program Manager in the Counterintelligence Division - Economic Espionage Unit and the Cyber Division - Middle East/Africa Unit.

    SSA Mekala currently works in the FBI’s New York Field Office and manages an 18-person team focused on state-sponsored cyber actors and technically-trained individuals aligned with international terrorist groups. 

    He has a Bachelors degree from Carnegie Mellon in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Biomedical Engineering.  He graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) with a Masters Degree in Policy and Administration, specializing in International Economic Policy Management. Prior to that, he was the Corporate Records Manager for New York Life Insurance Company.

    Mr. Stearns earned an MS in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon and BA from Binghamton University.     Brian joined Nuix in 2013 as Information Governance Program Architect helping IG practitioners and sponsors set up and manage enterprise governance programs through methodology, training, tools and software.
