    Keynote Speaker

    Michelle Miller, Correspondent at CBS News

    Michelle Miller is an award-winning CBS News Correspondent based in New York, reporting for all CBS News broadcasts and platforms. Her work regularly appears on the "CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley," "CBS This Morning" and "CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood." She joined CBS News in 2004.

    While at CBS News, Miller provided extensive coverage of the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, following the shooting death of Michael Brown. She also covered the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn.; the shooting at Chardon High School in Ohio; the 2004, 2008 and 2012 presidential elections; the death of Whitney Houston; and Hurricanes Sandy, Irene and Katrina.

    Lauren Barnes

    Lauren Barnes, CRM

    Lauren Barnes is a Vice President for Records & Information Management at Credit Suisse.  Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Barnes was at Lehman Brothers, with the primary responsibility for the management of the firm’s electronic records.  In addition to managing the records management program in the US for American Express, Barnes has worked as a consultant for records management software provider and for a national information management consulting firm.  For both companies, Barnes managed clients’ projects in banking and financial institutions, government agencies and law firmsproviding records program gap analysis, records strategy roadmap, policy and file plan development, process improvement and data mapping. 

    Barnes is currently an Adjunct Professor at Queens College teaching in the Graduate School Library and Information Studies.  Active in ARMA International, Barnes is on the ARMA Metro NY Chapter Board of Directors.  She holds a BFA from New York University and a MLIS with a Certificate in Archival Management from the Palmer School for Library and Information Science at Long Island University with honors.  She is a lifetime member of Beta Phi Mu, the International Library and Information Studies Honor Society.

    Deborah Butler, Esq.

    During a diverse 25-year legal and management career, Deborah has served as architect and manager of global privacy and information governance programs for large multinational corporations, managed legal and business staffs and represented legal clients in a variety of high-stakes transactions and initiatives.

    Deborah initially practiced law and was active in full-cycle real estate development in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She later was a Senior Attorney with the FDIC during the savings and loan crisis of the early 90’s, developing litigation and mediation strategies that recovered millions of dollars in assets from failed banks. She subsequently was appointed Chief Deputy City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia Law Department, serving as general counsel to Board of Pensions of Retirement, establishing the department’s emerging public pension legal practice for its then $5 billion investment portfolio.


    Galina Datskovsky, Ph.D., CRM, FAI

    Dr. Galina Datskovsky is currently the CEO of Vaporstream. She has also served on the board of multiple startups, assisting with strategy. Formerly Vice President of Information Governance at Autonomy anHP Company.  She served as Chair, President, President Elect and Director of ARMA International (2007-2013) as well as fellow in 2014. She also served as Senior Vice President of Architecture at CA Technologies, responsible for corporate-wide architecture and design initiatives, General Manager of the Information Governance Business Unit and a Distinguished Engineer. She joined CA in 2006 with the acquisition of MDY Group International, where she served as founder and CEO. Galina is a Certified Records Manager (CRM) and is recognized around the world as an expert in information governance and associated technologies. She is the recipient of the prestigious Leahy award and a Fellow of ARMA International.  

    James F. Dawson, CSSLP

    James Dawson is a Director in the New York office of KPMG LLP’s U.S. Forensic Advisory Services practice, and is a member of the Forensic Technology Information Governance group.  Prior to joining KPMG, James was MetLife’s Legal Affairs Director of Information Discovery and Litigation Support. 

    James has over 30-years of experience in supporting information governance for corporate legal departments, electronic discovery, business compliance transformation services and data management.  He has helped firms assess enterprise content management solutions, manage complex information lifecycle issues and navigate the processes and systems to control information assets and meet defensible data reduction for corporate general counsel. James has been responsible for information governance in several industries and verticals including several multi-terabyte data preservations and records management assessments

    Melissa G. Dederer, CRM, IGP

    Melissa G. Dederer is a certified Information Governance Professional (IGP) and Certified Records Manager (CRM) specializing in Information Governance and Records Management (physical and electronic records - full life-cycle management) with over twenty years of records and information management, project management and automation experience. She has been active in ARMA International for 19 years, at the chapter, region and international levels and is currently serving as a Director on ARMA International’s Board of Directors.

    Jennifer Farley

    Jennifer Watters Farley, CRM, IGP

    Jennifer Watters Farley, CRM, IGP is the Records Manager at Sidley Austin LLP overseeing three Northeastern US offices: New York, Boston and Portland, ME. She has worked in Records and Information Management for more than 20 years in the law firm industry including Sidley, Latham & Watkins LLP, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.


    Ronald J. Hedges, JD

    Ronald J. Hedges is the principal of Ronald J. Hedges LLC. He has extensive experience in e-discovery and in the management of complex litigation and has served as a special master, arbitrator and mediator. He also consults on management and discovery of electronically stored information (“ESI”).

    Mr. Hedges was a United States Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1986 to 2007. While a magistrate judge, he was the Compliance Judge for the Court Mediation Program, a member of the Lawyers Advisory Committee, and both a member of, and reporter for, the Civil Justice Reform Act Advisory Committee. From 2001 to 2005 he was a member of the Advisory Group of Magistrate Judges


    Jennifer Ipolitti


    Jennifer Ippoliti

    Jennifer Ippoliti is the Firmwide Data Governance Lead for J.P. Morgan Chase’s Chief Data Office, where she defines, drives, and delivers the operating model and toolset for governance of critical firmwide data. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Chase, Ms. Ippoliti was the first Chief Data Officer at Raymond James Financial. Ms. Ippoliti has also held leadership positions in enterprise data management at Barclays Capital/Lehman Brothers, built and led the Data Management practice at Wipro, and was a founding member of Accenture’s Data Management practice. She has been featured as one of Information Management’s “11 Chief Data Officers to Know” and “10 Big Data Experts to Know”, and is a frequent speaker and author on topics such as Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management Outsourcing, and the Chief Data Officer role.

    Anne Kershaw, Esq.

    As co-owner and managing director of Knowledge Strategy Solutions™️, Anne Kershaw continues and further builds upon the substantial consulting practice she developed under A. Kershaw, PC//Attorneys & Consultants, particularly in the areas of legacy data management and disposition and the development of sensible, cost-effective business information management programs that actually work. Anne also serves as a testifying and consulting expert, defending or challenging e-discovery processes and dispositions of accumulated legacy data. As an attorney and a nationally recognized data, litigation, and business information consultant, Anne provides independent analysis and innovative recommendations for the management and e-discovery of legacy and active data, including backup tapes, file shares, email and archives.


    Richard P. Kessler

    Richard P. Kessler

    Richard P. Kessler is the Executive Director, Information Lifecycle Governance, IT Contracting and Shared Services Legal, UBS Group AG.

    Richard is responsible for Information Lifecycle Governance at UBS, serving as the Risk Controller for records management, eDiscovery, and related disciplines.  He manages the Information Governance portfolio, defines and implements control frameworks, develops and communicates business requirements and standards, and is the primary liaison to Compliance and Operational Risk for monitoring and assessing Information Governance processes.  For more than 25 years, he has worked in numerous IT and Legal roles, including those in enterprise architecture, application development, trade automation, and data architecture.  He has also served as an ESI/eDiscovery consultant, assisting law firms and corporations with litigation readiness and response strategies.


    Tera N. Ladner, JD, IGP, CRM

    Tera Ladner is Director, Information Governance, for Aflac Inc., headquartered in Columbus, Georgia. 

     In her role, she is responsible for planning, implementing and ongoing improvement of the organization’s Information Governance Program.  She will be actively collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and maintain the program through policies, standards and best practices.  She will drive acceptance through education, coaching and change management strategies.  Information is one of an organization’s most vital strategic assets. When properly managed throughout its lifecycle, that information can drive an organization’s successful performance as well as ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and business requirements.

    Prior to joining Aflac, Tera held the position of Group Vice President of Corporate Records and Information Management at SunTrust Bank.  In addition to managing and maturing the information governance program there, she was business sponsor of a project migrating various internal document repository systems and all electronically stored information including email to a hosted cloud solution.  Over her career, Tera has been highly involved in all aspects of records and information management program implementation including development of policies, procedures and retention schedules, leading information governance committees, developing and administering training and handling vendor selection for off-site storage, records & media destruction and technology solutions.

    Tera is the President-Elect of ARMA International. 

    Rich Medina


    Richard Medina

    Richard is a co-founder and Doculabs’ resident expert in information lifecycle management, with knowledge of records management from all perspectives: people, process, and technology, as well as an understanding of best practices and how they apply within the real-world setting of the organization. His longstanding presence in the industry affords him an historical perspective on the problems of information management and the development of actionable strategies to address those problems – a perspective that informs his analysis of the dynamics and direction of the information management industry as a whole. 

    Paulo Mittiga

    Paolo Mittiga

    Paolo Mittiga is an independent consultant with over twenty years of experience in the Data Management and Software Development space. He spent all of his career in the financial industry and specifically in large banks where he held executive positions in the technology divisions and led critical firm wide initiatives. Currently he advices clients in any industry on Data Strategy and Data Governance. While at Citibank, he introduced the concept of Big Data and Semantic Web technology within the operation technology division. At Credit Suisse and Citadel Investment he led the Reference Data transformation programs which dramatically improved the data quality at both financial institutions. Before that he worked at J.P Morgan and Salomon Brothers. Mr Mittiga is native of Italy where he gained a master degree in Computer Science with summa cum laude.


    Tom Moss

    Thomas Moss

    Thomas Moss is Assistant Vice President, Records Management at Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York.

    Tom’s background includes nearly 25 years in the Records and Information Management discipline in various capacities in the Insurance and Manufacturing sectors.  During his career, Tom has managed records centers and document capture operations for both electronic document scanning as well as production microfilming. He has provided his companies guidance on formalizing Enterprise Records Management programs, records retention schedules, and system administration for various back end Content Management applications.

    Recently Tom has been involved in developing, implementing and maintaining the enterprise taxonomy and file plan being used in Security Mutual FileNet P8 environment.

    Tom is a current member of ARMA Metro NYC & the CNY Chapters.


    William Saffady

    William Saffady is a records and information management consultant and researcher based in New York City. He is the author of over three-dozen books and many articles on records management, record retention, information governance, document storage and retrieval technologies, and other information management topics. His latest book is the third edition of Records and Information Management: Fundamentals of Professional Practice, the most widely used textbook on records management. Other recent books published by ARMA International have dealt with record retention requirements in Europe and Asia, email retention and archiving, and cost analysis concepts for records management projects. Dr. Saffady’s consulting practice focuses on the development of strategic plans and governance models for records management programs, needs assessments and gap analysis, the development of record retention policies and schedules, and the preparation of technical specifications for procurement of records management products and services.  


    George Schultzel

    George Schultzel is a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is currently assigned to the New York Cyber Division. SA Schultzel is part of the Financial Cyber Crime Task Force, which investigates criminal computer intrusions focusing on the financial sector. SA Schultzel specializes in investigations that involve use of botnets and the money laundering apparatus utilized by complex cyber criminals. 


    Eugene Stakhov, CRM, CDIA+

    Eugene Stakhov, CRM, CDIA+

    Eugene Stakhov, CRM, CDIA+ is a senior ECM/Information Governance Solution Architect at enChoice, Inc., with a technical background in software development.  During his career, Gene has provided customers with expert guidance on matters ranging from enterprise taxonomy development to technical system implementation solutions in the Banking/Finance, Insurance, Technology and Utilities sectors.

    His work includes implementing a highly visible, complex email and electronic records management initiative to address the regulatory compliance challenges of a large utilities company.  This solution won the IBM Innovation in Technology Award.

    Gene is also a proud, “card-carrying” member of ARMA Metro NYC, and serves on the Board of Directors as Vice-President, CIO.


    Jason C. Stearns, CRM, IGP

    Jason C. Stearns, Director, is a member of the Legal and Compliance Group at BlackRock. He is responsible for the global implementation of Information Governance standards and requirements. Prior to BlackRock, Mr. Stearns worked at UBS as Director and Portfolio Manager, Group Information Governance where he was responsible for Information Governance strategy development, project management, and oversight. Prior to that, he was the Corporate Records Manager for New York Life Insurance Company. Mr. Stearns earned an MS in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon and BA from Binghamton University. He is also a Certified Records Manager (ICRM) and Information Governance Professional (ARMA International).


    Tina Torres, CRM, PMP

    Tina Torres is a director within PwC’s Information Risk Management practice. Tina joined PwC in 2015 backed by more than 18 years of experience and expertise in designing, managing, planning, and implementing full-cycle Information Governance and records management programs, metrics, measurements and benchmarking, and integrating program into the business. She was instrumental of developing records policy features in technology solutions such as Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint. Her expertise lies in strategic assessments and roadmaps, implementation planning, communication and change management advising, future state design, gap analysis, training development, and design of advanced information management metrics, strategies and methodologies. She draws much of her industry experience from her previous roles working closely with High Tech, Legal, Financial Services, Health Care, Pharmaceutical, and Energy companies.


    Rick Tucker

    Rick Tucker has 17 years of experience in information management technologies, focusing on enterprise content management (ECM) technologies and their applications to business processes. Rick is closely involved in working with Doculabs clients to help them manage information. He assists Doculabs consultants in developing new products and services, including Doculabs’ services in information governance, and works with sales and marketing staff to promote Doculabs’ products and services. As a member of the senior management team at Doculabs, he is responsible for setting corporate direction and driving growth.



    Heidi Wachs, Esq., CIPP/US

    Heidi L. Wachs is a member of Jenner & Block’s Privacy and Information Governance Practice. A nationally recognized leader in privacy, breach response and data security compliance, her wealth of experience includes serving as a privacy researcher and as chief privacy officer of a major university. Clients seek her counsel in data breach handling and recovery, information classification, information security and identity governance and administration. Ms. Wachs is a certified information privacy professional.


    Jay Wood

    Jay Wood has worked in various Records & Information Mangement, Risk and Information Security capacities for over 20 years, mostly in the financial services industry.  His background is diverse, including education as a lawyer adn more than 10 years of systems integration / application development practice.  Currently, he is the Head of Digital Records Management at BNY Mellon. 


    Cindy Shea-Zuvich, CRM, CIP, ECMP                                                                     

    Cindy Shea-Zuvich is the owner and principal of Unigrated Global, a records management services and information governance consulting practice.  She has over 20 years of experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide records management programs for Fortune 500, multinational companies in diverse industries.  She also has had numerous engagements acting as records manager for clients to lead and fully manage the company’s records management program in absence of in-house resources.  Prior to becoming an independent consultant again, she was a consultant with Huron Legal for seven years. Cindy has taught adult classes in records management and was an adjunct professor at California State University, Dominquez Hills.
