“RIM RIDERS” RIDE AGAIN TO FIGHT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

On October 4, 2009, the “RIM RIDERS” will join 5,000 participants for Bike MS New York City’s 25th Anniversary Celebration, riding to raise money for the National MS Society. This year’s goal is to raise $3,000,000 and we want to do our part to reach that goal. To make a donation, you can simply visit the team page, contribute to any team member or mail a check (made payable to “Bike MS NYC”) to:

National MS Society-NYC Chapter
Bike MS NYC
P.O. Box 10123
Uniondale, NY 11555-0123

Please make sure to put the team member’s name in the memo section of your check. We sincerely, hope our chapter members, their friends, family and colleagues help us reach our goal of $3000.00. Spread the word!

The National MS Society believes that moving is not just something you can or can’t do but, rather, is who you are. Bike MS raises funds for critical research, as well as comprehensive programs and services for people with MS, moving closer toward a world free of MS. When you donate, you become a part of the powerful movement that is doing something about MS Now.

Many thanks in advance for your generous support.

Warmest regards,

Frank LaSorsa & Marcel Rodriguez, Co-Captains

What is Just Tell?

Just Tell’s mission is to reach out to youth who are being sexually abused in order to tell them that they are not alone, they are not to blame and should feel no blame or shame, and that they need to choose a trustworthy adult and tell them about the abuse.

Just Tell’s Vision

Just Tell visualizes a world in which children who are molested immediately turn to a trusted adult figure in their lives and tell them of the abuse. That trusted adult has information to help the child though the next steps so that the abuse is stopped and the abuser is prevented from harming other children.

Just Tell’s Program

The Website: JustTell.org

The website contains pages written especially for sexually abused children and includes true stories of adults and teens who were sexually abused. These stories and excerpts give kids other people’s stories to identify with. The website also includes pages for adults. These pages are designed to equip adults to be helpful when a child reveals their abuse to them.

To Help Out

Just Tell plans to have volunteer youth Street Teams all across the United States who will be passing out stickers and wallet cards at concerts, schools and other young people’s gathering places. These cards and stickers will direct kids to visit our website, JustTell.org, where they learn how to stop their sexual abuse.

They can’t do this without our help. You can make donations through PayPal or by check, made payable to “Just Tell” and send to:

Just Tell
P.O. Box 262
Canal Street Station
New York, NY 10013

Just Tell is a non-profit volunteer organization and operates under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which makes your donation tax deductible.

RIM Riders for Multiple Sclerosis Take Manhattan

Not even early morning rains prevented the Rim Riders from their appointed ride around Manhattan on Sunday, October 5, 2008. Faced with a cold, biting rain, wind and the challenge of riding 30 miles each, the RIM Riders took Manhattan by storm and completed the ride well before noon and raised more than $2,000.00 to benefit this worthy cause. “It was an exhilirating ride”, team captain, Frank LaSorsa said. “The next challenge will be the five-borough bike tour in the Spring of 2009. Team Members Frank LaSorsa, Darryl Harris, Marcel Rodriguez, Mary Sherwin, Helene Lilly and Wendy Martin all received commemorative T-Shirts and medals for completing the ride. Mary went on to complete an additional 30 miles! What an amazing effort by all!

Thanks to everyone who contributed and supported this team.
